Boston Block

Constructed circa 1890, Morris Auerbach, in business with Israel L. Israel and Adolph Marks, were the original occupants of this buidling. Its name is from their business, the Boston Clothing Company, which carried gentlemen's attire and "furnished goods."  Its flamboyant  facade was a worthy companion to the Novelty Block, which once stood two doors to the north, also owned by Auerbach. The Boston Block is sometimes mistaken in written sources for the Morris Block, a building planned in 1885 but never built. The Boston Block stands at 21-25 South Last Chance Gulch. (Photo)
