Fort Harrison

When established in 1892, Fort Harrison was named for President Benjamin Harrison. It was renamed in 1906 for President William Henry Harrison. The fort is located west of Helena. It ceased to be a U.S. Army Post in 1913 and the Montana National Guard took up training there. After World War I, the Veterans Administration took over part of the Fort for use as a hospital.
