Lizzie Fisk
Elizabeth Chester Fisk was born in Connecticut in 1846. Before her marriage she was a teacher and volunteer in the Civil War effort. She and Robert E. Fisk moved to Helena after their marriage in 1867. During her trip and life in Montana, Elizabeth corresponded with loved ones in the East. While raising a family of six children she also assisted Robert with management and running of The Herald newspaper and was a social activist. She died on April 21, 1927, in Berkeley, California, where she and Robert had retired.
